  • Titus' high ethical business standards

Between 17 and 20 November 2020, we successfully passed, without non-conformities and without observations, a new SMETA audit. This enables our company to continue cooperating with important customers from the furniture industry and consumer appliances.

    Titus' high ethical business standards

Responsible sourcing is in the spotlight now more than ever. New ethical trade legislation is constantly being introduced in various countries and consumer awareness has grown, and these are driving factors of Sedex’s success. Consumers expect transparency and they expect businesses to be undertaking ethical and sustainable purchasing decisions.

Titus Group has always been committed to adhering to high ethical business standards. Guaranteeing the commitments and compliance of Titus’ operations is verified by internal and external audits. The first external assessment in this area was carried out by Ikea 15 years ago. Since then, we have been developing our criteria and improving our performance.

In 2018, we joined the international organization SEDEX, which is one of the world’s leading ethical trade service providers. The objective of over 60,000 organizations, members of SEDEX, from 180 countries is to improve working conditions and reduce environmental impacts in global supply chains. In the same year, we successfully passed the first external SMETA audit (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), followed in a year by an external audit under a very similar ICS scheme (Initiative for Compliance and Sustainability).

This year’s assessment differed from the previous one because it was carried out remotely. The auditor also examined in great detail the adherence to labour legislation.
The full audit report will be available to SEDEX members on the SEDEX portal. This enables our company to continue cooperating with important customers from the furniture industry and consumer appliances.

Thanks and appreciation go to all employees who co-create the work environment and results.

  • Titus Technologies Receives Slovenian Innovation Award for Titusonic

The Titus Group is once again among the recipients of the national award of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia for innovation. This year, our company Titus Technologies received a Bronze Award for a modular cabinet assembly machine ‘ModulR powered by Titusonic’ which thanks to ultrasonic technology for joining furniture cabinets significantly reduces the time between planning and installation of a custom-made kitchen.

The Chamber of Commerce awards for innovation are the highest national recognition for innovations by Slovenian companies. At the awards ceremony on November 20, 2020, the Titus team received a bronze award for a modular assembly machine ‘ModulR powered by Titusonic’, which significantly speeds up and simplifies the process of assembling furniture cabinets. It joins the furniture panels with the help of ultrasonic technology, which softens special plastic dowels, thereby bonding the panels.

"We are very pleased that the Chamber of Commerce has recognized the value of our innovation," said Peter Orbanić, director of Titus Technologies, d.o.o., a company that developed the modular assembly machine ‘ModulR powered by Titusonic’. "This is an additional recognition for the inventiveness and creativity of our engineers, who are constantly looking for new ways to improve the competitiveness of our customers."

The use of Titusonic ultrasonic joining technology brings great savings to furniture manufacturers. With it, the cabinets are assembled in seconds and can be shipped immediately, without drying. The time between planning and assembling a custom kitchen, for example, can be reduced to less than a week.

Last year, Titus received a Gold Award for Innovation for the Quickfit TL5 ‘Full Metal Jacket’ dowel and the FastFit machine for automatic insertion of cams and dowels.

  • Titus Group donates computers to local school

During the pandemic, schools in Slovenia had to quickly adapt to remote learning. For some, this was easier than for others. When we heard that the local primary school in our community in Dekani, Slovenia, lacks computers, we wanted to help. We donated the Dekani primary school three new laptops.

“Our donation will help ensure that education will be available to all students of the Dekani primary school, including those who would otherwise not have access to the necessary equipment for remote learning,” said Martina Kuzmič, Director of Marketing at Titus Group. Eneja Rožanec, acting principal of the Dekani Primary School, received the donation.
Titus Group’s main manufacturing facility is located in Dekani, in the coastal region of Slovenia. This donation is part of Titus Group’s ongoing involvement in the local community, where it has also been one of the main employers.
